MEET OUR PASTOR
Scot Loyd serves as the lead pastor of Jonesboro Worship Center. Scot is a dynamic speaker and teacher who lives to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Scot host “Faith Forward” a weekly radio program focusing on the impact of faith on culture, which airs Sunday Mornings at 10 am and 7 pm on Arkansas State University's Red Wolf Radio.
Scot describes himself as “a follower of Jesus Christ, eagerly anticipating His return when He will bring justice, clarity, and peace to this fallen world. Until then I seek to leverage my influence with others, being the salt and light, that Christ says I am. I love my wife, and my two children, and seek to lead them every day in righteousness. I serve my church and community by using my God given gifts for the glory of God alone.”
Scot earned his M.A. in Communication Studies, with specific studies in media and health communication, emphasizing the impact of communication on motivation and leadership, and his B.A. in Speech Communication and theater from Arkansas State University. Scot has also earned a specialist in community college education degree at ASU. Also at ASU Scot served as a member of the nationally ranked debate squad, winning both team and individual awards in both national and international tournaments, and has hosted several television programs for ASU-TV.
